Default Transmission cooling line fitting

I'm in the process of installing a new radiator on a 94 850 turbo and I decided to replace the oil and transmission cooling lines while at it since it's easy access with everything out. (Plus the lines are 22 yrs old and it made sense to do the job all at once.) All the lines were installed fairly easily with the exception of the lower tranny cooling hose which was a bear to try remove. While trying to unscrew the big flare nut, the fitting into the sump pan spun a little while I was trying to brace it with a wrench while turning the upper nut on the hose. The black o-ring squeezed out from under the attachment/fitting on the pan and ripped/came out . How is the fitting attached to the pan? and can it be removed & the O-ring be replaced? I went to dealer who pulled up diagram (#19a on the attached diagram) and it looks like you have to get another pan/sump & you can't buy attachment fitting separately. I hope there's an easy fix for this instead of getting another pan...grrrr so close to having it done

did you try calling FCP or eeuroparts to see if they can source? also IDP - they have (had?) a tranny flush kit which uses the cooler lines which may have o rings...

Well there is a big nut on the back side that if you lost the seal and it spun there is a good chance your going to need to pull the pan off and fix it. I didnt see a part number for the seal in Vida but would think you could find a substitute. I had my pan off a few weeks back to add some adjustment ports and its not a terrible job but time consuming.

I'll call Fcp or iPD. The fitting is still on and will snug up but without o-ring and I know it'll leak. Is the nut on the inside of pan part of the pan like welded to it? Any advice on how to pull the pan and to re install? With the radiator and intercooler already out I don't think it'll be that bad getting it out, if need be. Grrrr

The pan picture is my P2 pan and it had a bolt on the other side. I do not want to make a bad call here so I think you should go to a wrecker and unscrew one from another car. That will answer your question if its threaded and will give you the seal you need.

Thanks Boxpin. I was thinking the same thing about going to the pick a part. I'll get back with you to close the loop. I'm sure it's happened to someone else but couldn't find a thread on it. It's just frustrating because I was soooo close to wrapping up. I've essentially replaced all hoses on my baby, done the pcv, new heater hoses & coupling, new control arms links and tie rods etc. and seals. (It was pretty clogged up and neglected when I got it from my mom.) I've been a lurker on this site for a long time and am very thankful for the help.
