transmission issue
I have a 94 850 turbo with about 106k on it. The car is in other wise excellent shape, however, it's always seemed to make a kind of an abrupt 2nd to 3rd shift in the auto trans, especially in the "sport mode" It is most dramtically felt when you really stomp on the acellerator, kind of like passing gear on an old Chevy Powerglide. The tranny does not slip in any gear nor does it have any other symptoms or problems such as burnt fluid or any OBD codes. I flushed the tranny twice, the second time installing "Trick Shift Hi Performance Fluid" which did make a discernible positive difference, however the abrupt 2to 3 upshift persists. It doesn't get any worse.
I bought the car with just over 100k and it always seemed to shift a little rougher than my other cars with autos e.g. my BMW.
Is this a charteristic of this car? Could it be a shift solonoid? an accumulator or a sticky valve in the valve body? Could the kick down shift be involved here? I read another thread that said it could be a problem in the valve body with a sticky valve or a worn check ball. According to that write up, it would not get any better but it also probably wouldn't get any worse so it was best to just live with it unless you wanted to pull the tranny out and replace the valve body.
Any knowledgeable advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
