Volvo 850, 1996 Turbo A/C Issue
Just recently got a tranny rebuild done. The involves quite a bit of disassembly. When I got the car back, I noticed the A/C was not working. So I took it back to the repair shop that did rebuild, and they told me the compressor has probably failed.
I am still thinking it could be a electrical problem that occured during the tranny rebuild due to the dissassembly. When I turn the A/C On, I do not hear the click or the clutch engage nor any increase in the RPM. Assuming the compressor is bad, the clutch should engage and the engine RPM should increase right?
We checked the fuses, and they look good. Any thoughts?

Start with a system pressure check. If the pressure is low it will never turn on.
If the static pressure is OK - in the 100 PSI range with the compressor off on a hot day - you may have a clutch shim problem.
