Default Wagon Rear Bumper Paint Pet Protector?

Does any manufacturer make a product that protects the bumper from dogs entering the wagon? The car I am looking at buying just had it's rear bumper repainted due to dog claw marks, and I'd prefer to keep it pristine. I know a lot of newer cars have a black urethane cover to protect the bumper, and I was wondering if someone in the aftermarket makes one that could fit a V70/850. If there isn't a product designed for it, I could probably use clear bra material.

I have a 90 lb dog that will be getting in and out of the back regularly.

I love having a copy of a Volvo accessory catalog. I had the first item on my wagon, but no dogs. Adhesive-backed rubber mat kinda thing. Might help your situation, I liked having it. Volvo p/n 9491400.

The other item I see from time to time in wrecking yards, mainly XC models. Held in position with a Velcro strip. The cover is made of
impregnated fabric. Can keep an eye out for another for you, if you like. Volvo p/n 9204625.

Awesome! The first one is the route I think I will go, and it is pretty inexpensive. I guess the bad part is that it leaves the edge somewhat unprotected.

Here's another shot from my recently-sold wagon.

Thanks for the pictures. Your Volvo was from my home town based on your license plate cover.

I flew down to Fresno to buy it. Lots of fun, but sold it after finding my yellow sedan. I'm hoping to get the yellow modded like the wagon was.

Yeah I remember you telling me you got it in my area. Just odd to see a Palo Alto license plate on a random car on the internet! Thanks again for the help/pictures.

Awesome, you guys rock I was looking at this same thing Saturday and wondering why Volvo had the oversight not to put something like this on the rear bumper cover from the factory (the first pic, the rubber piece). Almost every wagon I've ever seen has a molded ABS plastic piece on top the bumper like this, and its odd that an originally ~35k 20 year old Euro made car never came with it... I actually considered making my own and modding the bumper because of it, but now I know there is something out there it saves me the trouble

Thanks goldponcho!

I'd like to find one of those shipping blanket material covers - sliding these 300# pinball machines in and out of my wagon is going to do a number on the bumper at some point, if I'm not careful!

I have this skirt as well. Keeps the bumper from getting marked up as I put things in and out of the back.
