Default What amp battery do I need for a 850 GLT . Saloon 1993 year?

Hi help Iam not sure what size battery I need for a 850 glt saloon. 1993 manufactured? If smaller battery was used before 62 amp, would this have caused damage to electric parts. Due to not enough amps, stop them working properly? Used for 3-4 years. Now replace with 72 amp battery not sure this is the correct size? Help

here in the US batteries are rated in cold cranking amps (CCAs) - OEM for your car is 600 CCAs but 650 CCAs seems to be the most widely available at a fair price. The battery's physical size is important to match up for correct terminal placement and to ensure the lock down tab works. Looks like your year takes an H5 size battery. And no, running something with smaller capacity won't damage electrical parts, it just won't have power reserve for starting on cold days and will probably not last as long.

yes, 60 Ah will work, 70 Ah is preferred, particularly if you live in a colder climate with many cold starts (say temps can go down to -10 or -15C

Hi All,

Originally mine car came with 520CCA, next when that went bang I put the 850 diesel version in which was 600CCA. I now have a 720CCA which takes up the same space as the original
