Default Where is AMP located at? 96 850 Turbo

I installed a new cd head unit, but no sound. So I'm assuming that I have to bypass the factory amp. But I don't know where it is? Also is there a seperate amp for the front & back? Someone please help.

Thanks.

Did you have a DIN connector that plugged into the plug labeled AMP on the back of your OEM headunit?

If so you do have an amp. It is a 4 channel amp.

The amp is located just below and behind the OEM headunit and it looks like a giant heatsink.

If you follow the wires from it - they are encased in a foam covered tape - you will find another connector that mirrors the connector from a non-amped radio. Plug your adapter into that and things should be more or less golden.

The dashboard tweeters don't run through the factory amp and they will need to be spliced in - in parallel - with the front speakers to make them all work.
