Whats best product to use to recondition window rubber surrounds
I'm sure other early model C30 owners have noticed that the molded rubber material that surrounds and seats the outside of the windows has the tendency to break down and mark up easily after a few years. No doubt due to ultra violet exposure. Has anyone found a good product to rejuvenate/repair this condition?

Silicon spray works , but I am sure there are many products on the market that say the same , but what I found once the rubber is hard and cracks , then replacement is the only way, the way to go is to maintain it before it gets past the end , difficult if it parks outside
No i have never had to replace , our Volvo parks inside , its a 2005 model and all looks fine , but we dont use it much , like once a week or so its on 120k (Km) , but due to time has had a few problems
yeah. min is a 2009 with 60K. Garaged now and not driven much. Absolute excellent condition. The rubber window surround deterioration was from the first owner who parked the car outside a lot in So-Cal. I'm going to at least check out buying the material and re-fitting it...how hard can it be? ...or I'll just try the best silicone
Good luck you will need a tool to remove the door cards , dont just pull them off as they are tight and will break , sometimes the door card also gets damaged , once the door card is removed its quite simple
Thanks richardkonrad! If I go with a silicone product, I'll let you know the brand and quality results as well.
