Unhappy 2000 Volvo C70 HT ETM install question.

Ok,, i'm back with more questions as promised lol. I got the Volvo back together and running but it has a fluctuating rough idle and when pressing the gas pedal it is not as responsive as it should be and bogs out some, hope i'm explaining this right so i don't get the incorrect diagnosis and help. I finished the work being done where i was asking for help in the PCV Help post i made a few days ago, so...... I cleaned up all the PCV Valve related parts hoses etc and reinstalled, put in the used ETM i purchased ( A used rebuilt one by XeModex in 2013) Purchased from a guy on eBay who guaranteed it to work or he would refund my money, anyway installed it with a new gasket, new plugs, cleaned all PCV related hoses and parts, installed new thermostat and gasket new blue antifreeze coolant, new intake gasket, new MAF Sensor, new oil and filter change, cleaned all the big 3 - 4 inch duct piping going from ETM to radiator to Turbo etc. etc., new wipers and fluid, air filter, hopefully i'm not leaving anything out. Ok, after 4 days or more of getting parts, cleaning parts from car etc , i get everything back together and start the car and it's not running like it should, I was told the ETM i purchased should be a plug and play without Volvo having to do a programming of any sort for the XemodeX rebuild from 2013 for it to sync and work with my Turbo car. The ETS warning light is still on and the check engine light as well after starting the car. I found an old thread on the forums here by ....... steve 1564 in 8 - 29 - 2010, and another member, ( Bobec) made suggestions that help him rectify his problems. The title of the Post was "Throttle Body Replaced - No Software" and it seems he had found some current or low voltage issues if i'm correct that were causing his ETM issues, not the ETM itself. So I am wondering if that could be my problem, that would be nice instead of having to have Volvo do a re=programming for my ETM. Anyone know what they charge to do the reprogram if that is the culprit/ I live in a very small rural town farthest north in NM called Raton, 20 miles south of Trinidad Colorado, which is also a very small town, my point is we have no Volvo service anywhere around tomy knowledge. Any help is much appreciated, I am sorry this is sooo long.

Well i thought I would be brave and test drive it to see how the car done, I was actually surprised how well it done, took my wife to work, she only works about a mile from home so, anyway aside from the idle issue it performed rather well, better than i expected huge improvement since all the new parts were installed, no more engine jerking ( top back mount was replaced as well), then on my way back home it leaves me stranded for 5 - 10 minutes, i could not make it up the steep hill, it just died on me because the gas pedal all of a sudden had no response at all, so i let it set, restarted it and made it home. Any ideas anyone please???

ETMs have a known issue with the contacts - there are repair kits if you want to rebuild your old unit, and you can call a dealer about the cost to pair a replacement unit to your ECU (I recall it being about $250) or XeModex will clone the old unit for you (for a fee). The only other part that may be in play is the throttle position sensor, but I'd expect a fault code if that's off. Wondering if there's something to adjust there.

I have a new TPS in box but i thought it was built into the ETM? i used a scan tool today and it also shows P0102 ( mass or volume air flow circuit low} . Is there a place to install a new TPS?

Well i installed the used ETM that was rebuilt in 2013 by XEmodeX and the ETS warning light was still on and it still had same symptoms and sometimes there was no throttle response at all! So i removed it and cleaned my old one up real good installed it back on the car with a new gasket, it at least runs and drives now though it has a low idle and when i tap and release the gas pedal quickly it drops very low on RPM and almost dies then idles back up enough to run. and does not have the no pedal respons like the xemodex used one did so i assume the used one i bought needs to be programmed by volvo or i have other issues. Seems like both codes i pulled have something to do with voltage related issues, my battery only shows 11.5- 12 volts could that have a weird effect on things, what about with battery charger hooked up? thanks

well my car left me on the side of the road twice today, had to kill the engine, wait a few minutes then restart it, this happened like 2 or 3 times in a 20 minute period, i ended up using my OBD Diagnostic tool to check for codes, which it found 2, i cleared them then restarted car and made it home, check engine light is back on now though.

first code was, P0102 MASS or volume air flow A circuit low, second code was P0121 Throttle / Pedal position sensor / switch A Circuit range / performance. Can anyone please give me any ideas, does this all relate to the Electronic Throttle Control Module issue. I appreciate any help.
I cleaned the mass air flow assembly with throttle body cleaner real well and re installed with new gasket. im wondering if something besides the ETM could cause this because the used one i installed built by xemodex done the same thing mine is doing, i just assumed it needed to be programmed to work with my car but this one is the one that was in the car and doing same thing, the throttle , gas pedal had no response at all a few times and that is why i was stuck on road today.
