Default C70 cutting out

Morning Gents.

this morning I got in my baby and warmed her up as per usual and drove off to the mechanic as I had planned a checkup as I have an ever so slow oil leak. Not 2 minutes into driving off i noticed that it seemed to cut out so i accelerated again and it responded so i thought i would try it again.

Again it happened and it felt like it was just holding in 3rd gear and dropping into 4th only it completely cut out this time and the orange arrow came up and I stalled and came to a stop at the traffic lights ofcourse. pffft !

I managed to get it started up again after about 5 minutes and it only cut out once after that but as I was moving it seemed to continue on its merry way without any further probs to the mechanic. I did mention this to him when i arrived and he is going to let me know.

One thing I did notice is that when i was stuck at the lights i couldnt take the keys out of the ignition.....it seemed to be stuck in no matter how much I jiggled it around. Once I got to the mechanics i twas all fine again !

Tech ? anyone ?

ps; im determined to get rid of all these problems....and become an expert on C70's !!!!! Peter <<< grits his teeth with determination >>>

Did the check engine light come on?

Is the shifter button broken up on the bottom of the button?

This was on a GM, but I did have that happen when there was a loose connection on the battery. It wouldn't happen all of the time and it would sometimes fix itself. Who knows, if you dont have a good connection with the battery, it may be causing your other problems.

The only light that came on was the orange arrow light (same as I get in W mode)

no buttons appear to be broken. Drove back from the mechanics tonight with no probs but that was only 5 minutes. Worrying that it will happen again. he said he topped up my fluids and said it could have been a sensor of some kind.

The PNP is on the transmission and tells the engine computer what gear the transmission is in.

That is the part it is kind of a pain to replace but can be done.
