Ets light on after engine replacement
#4
Because the crank sensor reads the motor moving. It will wack the entire system out.
I had one 2 weeks ago same issue. I checked the flywheel and it was good. Moved the ground wire to the proper position and removed the crank sensor. Then reinstalled the same crank sensor and started it up and all was fine.
It came in not going over 2500 RPM. It would act like the rev limiter was kicking in.

Same problem
i change out the crank sensor from the other engine that i have and reset the computer and for a little bit it seem to get better then it went back to the way it was. you can here the throttle plate clicking when you first try to start it after the reset then you don't here it. is that because it goes back to limp mode. is there a manual way to read codes i have a snap on verus and it says that there is no codes in the computer but shouldn't there be if the ets light is on.

The ETS light is a seperate system. Sorry the Snap On one will not read it.
This must be the time for many cars to have this issue.
This car is the 4th car at the moment I know of having the same issue.
I actually have one that was towed in today with the exact same issue.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be looking at it. I will pass along my findings to see if they will help you.
