Evap Error Scan Code
Hello. I have a question on an error code. I took my C70 in because I have a Check Engine light on and the OBDII scanner indicated that there was a small evap error (or leak). I later took it to a mechanic who indicated that it was an error code 400 C. ( fuel leak). It is my understanding that this could be an EGV valve or something relatively simple. The mechanic told me that they would have to take off the fuel tank and would charge me 2.5 labor hours to try to find the leak. Any suggestions on this problem. I just have a feeling that I am not getting all of the information and I would like not to pay for extra work that is not necessary. Thanks.
I had the same problem on my '98 for 11 years ( for the smog test I would disconnect the neg- on the battery - no joke it works it's called a hard reset) last year after reading an Volvo form I changed the PURGE VALVE, I bought it online and replaced it myself- two hoses, no clamps, one eletrical connector, NO engine check light or code for this since.
