hi - i had my garmin sitting on the dashboard, but didn't like that "full view" so much. so i got a cheap lamp ($5.95 at walmart) with a goose neck, mounted the garmin holder on top of it and put the whole thing (with the bottom fixed to the mounting screw of the seat rail) between the passenger seat and the middle console. for me it is a perfect fit as it is easy to see, if my wife is in th passenger seat she can easily turn it her direction to use it. plus - it is more out of the sight
of "nosy eyes" from the outside. the cable is running inside the hollow gooseneck, so there are no cables hanging/lying around.
and since the cupholder in the armrest was broken anyway (apart from being useless) i took it out, made a little drawer thingi, hardwired the ipod adapter (blitzsafe) into it - it slides out of sight inside the armrest of course.
on the picture you can see the cup holder i am using - it sits right in front of the seat, just tucked under the middle console - fits good, it is not in the way.
