How do you safely tune a 2000 C70 HPT?
I recently bought a 2000 C70 HPT convertibleand I'm LOVING it so far. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with tuning this engine, and how much extra performance you can get out of it. I have ordered a K&Nair filter, which will be installed in a few days. How much extra boost can I expect from this? I was also thinking about getting a chip, but again how much should I expect both to pay and recieve in extra HP? Does anyone have any other suggestions as far improving this cars performance goes? I am new to this forum and a newborn Volvo enthusiast and appreciate all the help you guys can give me.

1. I suggest you first complete STAGE ZERO. Read about it here, https://volvoforums.com/m_38606/tm.htm
2. Yes people have tuned this engine many times over.
3. Intake, Downpipe, Catback, ECU are normal common modifications.
4. IPD USA, BSR PPC and RICA PPC are the best ECU tuning upgrades on the Volvo aftermarket. Expect to pay anywhere from $896-$1295, again these are the best ECU tuners on the market. Upsolute, SpeedTuning USA and Inmotion are Volvo ECU tuners and cost significantly less but you get what you pay for. For them expect $325-$425 about.

5. You can safetly run 17PSI on this engine with the OEM turbo.
6. K&N panel filter your only going to see a possible gain of 2-5 Hp. If that, you may feel slight throttle response.

7. The ECU's are pretty much all around the same figures in power gain. Around 35 Hp and 35 Ft-Lb's of torque. Again these are estimates, you may see more (maybe) or less.
