Default OMG say it aint so...

Either my driving skills suffered alot from driving a Grand CHerokee or the is horrible in winter snow/ice.

I was driving home on the highway, I took my exit at a good speed for the weather or at least I thought. My 01 c70 started to fishtail, I corrected and corrected. I wasnt going that fast. My heart nearly stopped

It is a FWD car you know. They aren't the best in the snow and ice and no car is good on ice no car (FWD, RWD, 4WD, AWD)

You have to know how to drive a FWD car in the snow. I'll never forget the first time I drove a Subaru (not AWD, but FWD) in the snow. The backend broke lose and the next thing I knew I was facing the wrong way on the road. Sometimes the best thing you can do is give it a little gas to get the car going straight and then start braking. There are times when controlling a FWD car is harder than than a RWD car because the rear wheels are doing nothing but following the front. But they have much better traction for going up hills and going through snow. I've never had a problem with my Volvo's in the snow.

Strange but true. If your revs are high and you back off the throttle or throw it into a lower gear, the front wheels willrotate slower than your forward speed, try steering with those !
Now back to JimKW's quote.
