XC90 ERAD clutchpack failures: XC90 2018 T8 90k miles
Hello all,
Took my wife's XC90 in due to a bucking feeling from the rear-end upon breaking on an incline or after a complete stop, light acceleration, and turning to the left. It was like the car wouldn't move on Battery power alone and the ICE would kick on and you would shuttle off. Wasn't the smooth transitions we knew this car was capable of.
Background we have owned the vehicle for 3 years and about 40k miles. We bought it off lease and all maintenance records were provided by Volvo.
For piece of mind, as purchased an extended warranty through my CU through Assurance VSA; added an additional 4 year coverage and mileage up to 120k.
Volvo called and let me know the eRad needed to be replaced due to several clutch packs slipping/failing. Under Volvo's warranty.
I was thankful...will let you know the results once we get the car back in a week or so (ordering parts and Labor is a whole days work of work).
