Default 01 S40 jerky acceleration

When I press on the gas to pass a car it starts jerking and misfiring and it doesn't idle smooth all the time...sometimes the rpms will drop some...I had the check engine light checked and it came up P0171 I believe it was, so I replaced the boost sensor (didn't fix it).The check engine light came back on and it was the code for the cam sensor...Do you think it could be the cam sensor or should I try replacing plugs, wires and coils if need be??? Thanks for any input...

How long since you had a tune up? (coils, wires, plugs) When mine started misfiring at 100k miles it was in need of all the normal tune up items.

I've never had the cam sensor trouble code. Which code is that exactly?

I'm not sure what the code was he just told me cam sensor code....it ended up being my coils, I found a crack so I put some clear nail polish on and the misfire is gone....YAY

Nail polish is all it takes to fix it? That's one I need to try next time. Have you done this before? How long will it last?

No I happen to find it on google so I figured I'd give it a shot...I think its more a temporary fix... I just tried it because I have to order my coils, so it'll be a week before I see them..I put like three coats of clear nail polish and let it dry over night....
