Default 2000 S40 check engine light OBDII P1014

I have a 2000 s40 with 156000 mile on it. The check engine light came on the day after I purchased the car. The transaction was already complete now its my issue. So I am looking for some help,please..

I used a OBD II and got a code P1014. Camshaft reset valve Faulty signal per the OBDII.
I have checked Timing marks and they line up, changed the oil, cleaned the VVT solenoid, checked solenoid with battery, check solenoid connector with volt meter and replaced solenoid gasket. It seems like the previous owner never changed to oil, so I added marvel mystery oil to my oil change to help remove any sludge, but I still have a check engine light.

Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions before I remove the VVT pulley?

Is the car running ok otherwise? Could be the sensor or could need to be reset to home. you may want to try a Seafoam treatment (a bit more aggressive cleaning than MMO) and another oil change...

Are you anywhere close to Boston? I have a fix for this code and I'm looking for a car to try it on.

I think the car has a slightly longer start-up on a cold crank up, otherwise the car runs fine. What do you mean about resetting home? Is that removing the timing belt and re-positioning the VVT pulley?

I went through a similar issue, but no engine codes. Used S40 that was neglected and had build up in the engine. I can tell you this, MMO and Seafoam do little or nothing for it. I tried both, MMO twice. In my case I had a leaky VVT too, so I replaced it. But after I had it off I sent the old VVT to Migbro so he could take it apart (he was researching a fix for leaky VVT's) and he found lots of buildup still in in. Maybe it helps more around the pistons, lifters, things that move more? Honestly I think a few good on-time oil changes work just as good.

FIX!!!

I replaced the timing belt, water pump, crankshaft seal and seal behind the exhaust sprocket for camshaft.

I think the seals were the issue so the vvt was getting low oil pressure.
