Default 2000 S40 Service Light

Maybe I missed it in the book. I service the car myself, but I cant find out how to disable the service light.

Does anyone know the correct procedure - usuall with key on push some buttons in a sequence.

Default RESET service light 2006 S40

This works on my 06 s40. I hope this works for you!!

Ignition position I

-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer

-Ignition position II.

Note! Turn the key to position II within 2 seconds.

-Hold the reset button for the trip meter pressed in until the original value has been reset.

Note! For all vehicles from the 2003 model year a general yellow lamp will light when the reset button must be released.

-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 4 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded

-If the trip meter is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds.

Note! If the reset button for the trip odometer is not released within 4 seconds, the service reminder indicator (SRI) is not reset.

Default RESET SERVICE light ON 1999 S40/V40

or try this?

RESETTING SERVICE LAMP ON 1999 S40/V40
1. With the ignition switched off, hold down the odometer button
2. Insert the key and turn the ignition on so all the lights in the dash are lit (don't start)
3. Keep holding the odometer down for 30 secs or until the service light starts flashing
4. Release the odometer button, switch off ignition and remove key

I do this every time after I service the car.
