Default Thermostat and ECT sensor.

Hi there. The thermostat is simple to change. It is on the left hand side (timing belt side) of your engine (on top of the engine) as you look at the engine from the front when the hood is up. It has a 2 inch diameter hose coming out of it and running to the top left side of the radiator. Remove the thermostat by unscrewing the 2 10mm bolts that hold the top cover of it on, then remove the top cover and you will see the themostat right underneath. Just lift it out, drop a new one in, put the cover back on and tighten down the 2 10mm botls, and you are done. Whole job should take about 10-15 minutes. If you lose a bit of coolant in the process of changing the thermostat, just add a bit of coolant at the end of the repair to replace what was lost. The temp sensor (called the ECT) is close to the thermostat, just to the right of it. Disconnect the connector and then unscrew the sensor and pul it out. Good luck.

Very easy job as stated.

If you got the thermostat from the dealership, what temp is it? I've seen 160F through 193F listed as OEM.
