2007 S40 rear brake caliper removal

Default 2007 S40 rear brake caliper removal

I am going to replace a bad caliper and need help removing and reattaching parking brake wire to the caliper, pictures will help more.
also removing the brake fluid hose to caliper, I wander how to avoid air getting in brake hose.

replacing a flex hose is pretty straight forward stuff. Some searching on YouTube will give you all the info you need. As for how to unplug he EPB, it’s just a clip harness. Do a search for volvo EPB removal to get diy instructions on how to deal with an electronic ebrake without using specialized tools.

When I did the rear caliper on my 850, I kept a golf tee handing to stopper the line. When I reattached it took some fenagling to get the hard line to thread in so I created a small puddle of fluid, but I simply opened the bleed valve and let the fluid run through to push any air out. Did a very simple open close with a helper pressing on the brakes and that was it for bleeding. I suspect the S40 will be much the same. All you need is a clear tube bleeder hose to see if any bubbles come out.
