Default Can I do this Myself?

I went to my volvo dealer and they gave me these recommendations:

Vehicle needs Turbo Return Seal and Gasket and Upper Radiator Hose.

What is a turbo return seal and gasket? I know what a upper radiator hose is.

Can Do Replace the upper radiator hose myself? I notice there are color stains on the upper radiator hose. Do I need to lift the car above ground to do this?

Can I goto a local mechanic shop to get this fix? Also, is it just as good to get oil changes from local mechanic shops instead from the volvo dealer here?

There is nothing mystical about the 2 jobs. Depending on how mechanically inclined you are, you should be able to do both. Else, any decent shop can also do the jobs. I'd stick with original Volvo parts to insure they fit properly.

The return seal and gasket can be PITA. Very tight quarters. And please forgive me but I don't know exactly which year you own.

The drain tube comes down from the back along the fire wall. There are other threads on here discussing it in detail.

You shouldn't have to lift the car to do the radiator hose, but may make it easier.

Neither repair is technologically difficult, the accessability of the drain tube is what is the problem many times.
