RE: CODES
Tech,
I found a place that sells them separately, cam lock tool alone is $224. I am going to buy that one.
If it turns out that valves are bent and I need to take the head out, can I manage without these other tools you posted above or I need to have them all?? Anotherwords I dont know if I should just buy the whole set 'cause I might need it?

RE: CODES
Well it is nice to have the 2 long tools with the wingnuts but you can do it without it.
Actually we made one at work. Welded some angle iron and cut some notches so it sat on the cam cover. Then broke some spark plugs and welded threaded rod to them and used the tool like that and ot worked fine. It is to help remove and install the cam cover straight.
If you don't have it you have to press the cam cover down slowly with the screws.

You've driven the stake in the yard for sure now, Never Pull the timing gears off a overhead cam engine without the cams being locked, preferably locked on the timing marks (all 3). I have a feeling you just spent 1500 on a valve job to go along with the new VVT hub. Always look in the pool before diving in. Wow
