Driver seat has too much play
2000 S40: when I accelerate or brake hard I can feel the seat moving slightly. it is not bad but annoying and I'd like to fix it. It does not seem to be the bolts holding the seat assembly to the car floor. It seems like the seat has too much play inside the rail. Is there a way to tighten that up?
Not sure if you're still under warranty or not, but my '06 T5 did the same thing. I believe there was a technical service bulletin on this and my seat was fixed. Can't remember exactly what they fixed, but it doesn't do it anymore.

I'm not under warranty anymore, 141k miles. I think however all recall issues have been fixed, at least thats what the latest CarFax tells me. I'll ask the dealer anyway, maybe they know what it is.
If it is a recall, regardless of miles and warranty, they must fix it. So you can take it in for that if it is apart of a recall.
Is the seat portion sliding, or the back rest moving? Because I notice the backrest move a bit when I brake or accelerate in mine.

I haven't had the time to deal with the seat issue yet since I also have/had suspension, transmission, oil leak and a few other issues.
I will however report back whenever I find out more.

I pulled my service receipt for the repair and it stated that I had a faulty seat back frame. The part was replaced and the seat has been fine since. Not sure if this is the same problem as yours or not...
I still haven't had the time to fix it but I did a little wiggling while sitting at a red light and iy is tue whole seat having too much play on the rails. Just wanted to add that.
