Front and rear oxygen emission
Hey buddies,
I’ve been driving a Volvo S40, 1.9T since the beginning of this year. I love the car which I bought privately from a friend. A few weeks ago the ‘stop engine’ light appeared for the first time. I brought the car to the Volvo Dealership and after an inspection they told me I have to replace the front and rear oxygen emission s., which would cost me $700!
Unfortunately, my extended warranty wasn’t transferred to my name within 15 days of ownership change, thus they won’t pay either.
I think the Volvo Dealership must have turned off the ‘Check engine’ light. In the meantime it didn’t appear again. Anways, I went to another garage and the guy told me I can wait without any worries, however, if the light appears again I shall get it fixed. He’d do it for $500!
The Volvo Dealership said it is an urgent matter, otherwise my car can catch fire…
What shall I do, who shall I believe?
Any suggestions?!
Thank you very much!

Never heard of a car catching fire from them being bad.
But running to long like that is bad for the engine and your wallet as well.
It will use alot of gas if the sensors are bad.
