Default help please: S40 hissing noise front right

my s40 was hit (low speed collision) in right front wheel area. There is a high pitch hissing noise that reacts to steering wheel movement and braking. Any suggestions as to what is damaged? Thanks for your inputs!

What year is the car? The 2004.5+ has an electric power steering pump near that location that can make a high pitched hissing noise.

The pump is still is the right from corner. There are also belts in the right front. The fluid may also be leaking from a power steering hose in the same area. Either way if it reacts to steering wheel movement, it is something power steering related. If it also reacts to braking, there could be something else at play. Here's my advice. If the car doesn't look damaged or if its been fixed already, take the car to the dealer. Its still under warranty. Play dumb on the collision. Tell them it was never hit. If they catch on, and won't cover it under warranty, have them tell you what's wrong, and how much it will cost, then take it somewhere else and have it done for less.

Deucetech: thanks for advice. I'm doing the body work now. And there are no leaks. It should become clear soon whats at fault. Jacek
