Default Non turbo block

Hello to everyone... Did Volvo make a 2.5 non turbo? And if so can it be converted to a turbo model using the same block.?

check out the "Volvo Modular Engine" Wiki page to see all the variants of the motors. The NA motors run a higher compression ratio than turbo motors so while conversion is technically possible, it would not be advised as you'd be adding boost on top of high compression which would mess with the fuel mapping and cause pre-ignition on anything short of aviation gasl...

I suspect the pistons and cams are different but you'd need to check part numbers etc to see if the block/crank etc is the same for two engines with the same bore/stroke.
