Does anyone know how to remove the radio in a 2001 Volvo S40?

 

Release the two security clips on the sides and slide it out!
Fairly easy.
Be sure you have the radio codes to reactivate

 

Any special tool to release these clips? Any trim around the radio that needs to come off? I only ask because the car is at my other house and I will be going there Sat and want to be prepared.

 

No, i think you press them in and then they pop out.
No trim at all.

Why are you removing it?

 

need serial number for code...original radio was replaced with new oem radio but I don't have the code. Where are these clips.

 

I'm not with my car so IDK exactly, but you will see them.
They are pretty obvious.
They are rectangular almost slits that you push in and they pop out, giving you little handles to hold on to while pulling.

Really easy!
Don't think too hard about it!
