I read that a lot of folks S40 speakers go bad. Why is this and how do you tell if they are bad? I usually have mine powered up nomore then 80%.

 

Man all i can say is i have gone thru a total of 40 speakers

 

The factory speakers are crap. I suggest replacing with aftermarket.

 

I have the 05 with prem speakers they are really nice sounding but volvo puts too much power into them and they frequently blow... so i have now opted to get some alpine ones which are ok .... but the best part it they havent blown ..... I would just replace then with som decent speakers
