Starter replacement

S40 2001 turbo

I will be replacing my cam seal as soon as my cam lock tool arrives in the mail .
while I'm in there I would like to replace the starter also

my question is can the starter be taken out without removing the fan?

okay great thank you I was having a hard time un doing the big plug near the battery that runs the fan motors I can't figure out how it unclips

thanks man I really appreciate that all i had to do was take out the brace that was next the starter and it fell right out save me a lot of time and effort thanks again
