Timing Belt needs replace 140k miles - $350 sound about right?
Thansk for reading, so I came across this ad on CL, Volvo Timing Belt kits and the guys seems legit in my conversation. I'm just trying to see if thats about right cost, calling dealership later?
Thanks for reply ES6T. How bout with water pump and thermostat installation, all day $450? I should just pay for that while doing it, right? I got the car in 2015, still owe a couple g's on it. Looking to sell it, gecko green, awd, great little car in philly.
Thanks again for your thoughts in advance

Water pump leakage isn't very common. I always tell people who ask that they can chose to do it because the additional labor is minimal while doing the belt, but it isn't necessary. If you were getting the belt done a second time at 240k, maybe.
On that car, the thermostat doesn't overlap with the timing belt. So the cost is the same to do it now or later.

FCP Euro has various kits with and with out the water pump, Volvo parts and aftermarket. You can get an idea of the part cost from them (https://www.fcpeuro.com/)
My local dealer wants about $800 to do the belt only and about $1200 to do the belt, water pump and cam seals. That is the same price Toyota would charge to do my Sienna.
