Default Upgrading cd player

I'm looking to upgrade the cd player in the 2005 S40. I have tried a lot of FM transmitters but none of them really work like they should...always static. So im looking to get something that has an AUX input.

Any suggestions?

Changing the CD player isn't an easy or cheap task for the '04+ S40s. Your best bet if you have the basic audio is to do what is suggested in the following link.

If you have the premium audio with the 6 dics changer you can get this: Dension GW51MO2

I went to Best Buy and the techs told me they could install anything I wanted in the car for $50 installation plus a $100 cable to make sure I can still use the volume control on the steering wheel, a $20 casing and another $20 cable.

All that plus the cost of the radio. Can they be right?

Let us know how it turns out...

Seriously, they don't know what they are talking about. The system is modular, interconnected with fiber optics and shares components with the climate control. It has been done but it is a major rework.

You have not gotten a quick response because there is no easy solution. If you have the Premium Sound system, your best bet is the Denson. If not then you could try a modulator that connects directly to your antenna connector. Harman Kardon makes one and a few others. It is not perfect but is a step up from the transmitter.

No way can Best Buy replace the system. As AutoNaut said it's an integrated system with fiber optical cables. You can't just pull the old "head unit" out and put in a new one.

Did you read the thread over on swedespeed? That is probably your best option.
