[:@] I don't know what the hell is happening to my "BABY"
First the steering wheel ingition needs to be replaced.....Now its making a horrible noise while driving.
It started a couple of weeks ago and seems to be getting worse. It sounds like the front wheels are about to fall off
and go flying into traffic. I notice that the noise stops when I let go of gas pedal and restart when I press down on it.
It only makes that noise when I'm going fasterthan 50 mph. The check engine light does come on from time to time and stays on
but then goes off after a month or two. I hope its nothing major cause my broke a$$ can't afford another 1K$ dollars or more to repair it.
And as far as being a mechanic, I'm not even close to being one, so I haven't checked engine mounts, sockets and sprokets and those sort of things.

I would check the engine mounts and wheel bearings. If you swerve from side to side does it change?
You might also want to check the axle inner joint as well for play.

 

My Volvo is a 2001 with over 114k miles on it. Yes it does seem to make worse noise when switching lanes and keeping my foot on the gas when doing so. Now when I let go of the gas and switch lanes there is no noise and vibration. With the problems you said it might be, do you know how much it would be to fix it?

You would have to call your local shop to find out exactly.
