So today I had a very heated conversation with one of my co-workers about "Who would win" if we had a race. He has a 04 Nissan Maxima SE with 20" chromes and is bone stock otherwise, I have a 04 S60 2.5T AWD stock.
Now what he said was he would murder me and leave me by like 2 car lenghts, I said No impossible you might get me of the line but once my boost builds i would leave you, not by much but i would win the race. He then said that he has 270hp, I said fine, you have a heavier car plus you got an extra 200lbs of rims. I said that it would be a close race but in the end the Volvo would reign supreme, I also said don't be fooled by the Volvo sign in the front, this is a very potent car.

What do you guys think? Do you think he can beat me or do i have him beat?

 

The fact you got the AWD will give u quite a quicker take off and your torque is available at lower rpms than his. I think you will definately beat him, no matter what condition the weather lol.

 

lol, a Maxima? lol even better that he put on those 20" chrome wheels... I think you will find there is a lot of things you Volvo will smoke.. people underestimate them, (at least in the states)

This guy insists that his Maxima can beat me! I tell him the same thing, "Do not underestimate the Volvo, it will eat your food, digest it and take a huge dump on your hood." I have talked to many of my friends and they all say the S60 will take him. I guess I just have to take him to the track and spank him. I have another friend who has a 08 Audi A4 2.0T S-Line who says that his car can beat me as well, now i did a bit of digging and found out that his car weighs 3800lbs with 200hp, he just chipped it and now makes 245hp or so i drove his car and its as fast as mine is without any upgrades. What would happen if I chipped mine? I guess i have to teach him a lesson as well.

 

So we are looking at a car that weighs 3570lbs with 208hp against a car that weighs 3430lbs and has 265hp with 255tq. Yes the maxima will take you by more than just several cars.
