Good evening all,

Anyone have a decent guide on replacing the hood release cable on these cars? I made the mistake of trying to open my hood before properly warming up the car and the cable snapped. Luckily it snapped right at the handle so I can get the hood to open.

Ideally would love a guide full with photos but if not just a decent step by step guide and what tools are needed.

I would like to add, when the latches and cables are in good condition, you can pull the lever with the little finger, it pops open the hood with very little effort. As the cables get grit inside - and possibly the latches bolts loosen up and get out of alignment - the lever gets harder and harder to pull. One preventative thing is to never drop the hood to slam it close: rather lower it by hand, then push down on it to engage the latches.
