I have a 2004 S60. The hood release was difficult but always opened. Now I can't get it to stay shut. If I push on it a few times it stays down but after driving it releases again. I noticed the handle under the dash is partly open and will not return to normal position. So apparently my cable is sticking someplace. Can anyone suggest were I can lube the cable or what I can do to free it up??

 

I would clean and then lube the latch first and then work back from there if needed.
