How are you planning on turning up the boost without an aftermarket tune?
I only ask cause the ME7 cars have had some issues with MBC/EBC's.

But just for reference sake iPd tunes, up the boost on the 2.5T's from 8psi to 14psi. So the internals will be fine to at least that point...

You mean IPD? Gotcha, It sounds like you're talking about adjusting the wastegate with IPD's tool. If so, yeah you can easily do that. And you can make a pump with gauge for a bit cheaper then what they sell their tool for. But to answer your question, yes you will need a tune to increase the max boost and more importantly get a much better boost curve. If you do decide to get a tune hold off for a bit until ARD has the '05+ ME7 tunes ready for your car. www.ardideas.com. Lucky's at ARD builds some very solid tunes. Take the time to read through this thread for more info.

Now, if you adjust the wastegate, you will not increase your max boost, all you will do is adjust the onset of the boost (ie.. your boost will build earlier in the RPM range). It will feel a little faster because the turbo is just spooling faster at lower RPM's. You also have to find just the right psi for the wastegate. If you tighten it too much, you'll actually limit your peak boost because the car will think it's overshooting (because boost is building too fast) and possibly go into "limp mode". It's really easy to do and have adjusted the wastegate in both my Volvos many times.

Pages and pages of good reading about wastegate adjusting, how to and the benefits....
