Hello! I’m desperately trying to diagnose an issue with my kiddo’s 2003 S60. The cooling fan continues running even when the engine is off. I disconnected the battery, reconnected, and still have this issue.
I’d love advice, but also info about where the fuse and relays can be accessed. I’m hoping that’s the issue and I can fix myself. Sadly, I can’t find good diagrams of this model. Thanks in advance!
Usually the fan controller causes that - It's part of the fan assembly - on the wiring diagram 4/71 is the controller, 6/29 is the fan motor. The controller get a signal from the Engine control module to turn the fan on, it has 2 or 3 speeds. It's possible someone sells it by itself - Volvo does not.
Is your s60 turbod? If so, it could just be cooling down after shutting the engine off. You'll probably notice it stays on in the summer, but not so much in the winter. And stays on during the hotter days and when you drive it harder. It's part of how the car works as far as I know. Couple good volvo mechanics confirmed that for me.
