2003 Volvo S60 2.4T Fan Will Not Stop Running
I am wondering if low freon would cause the fan to run without shutting down even with the key off? I believe I read somewhere that low coolant would cause this. I don't have a clue. This is my 1st Volvo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Volvo exclusive (to my knowledge) feature called afterblow. The fan will run on a cycle to dry out the A/C evaporator to avoid a mold issue. A quick google search or a search of the forum will confirm this for you.
I want to thank you for your input. It just seems to me the fan would eventually shut off. I realized the problem shopping one day. I left it alone overnight and it was still running the next morning. I had an appointment at the VA the next day and it continued to run. I finally unplugged it. Thanks again.
Aaahhh. Didn't understand the length of time involved. Many first time Volvo owners mistake the afterblow feature for a fan issue. In your case I would suspect a stuck relay or the sensor that determines when the afterblow kicks in being faulty. I have no personal experience trouble shooting this, but just based on my basic knowledge of electrical systems.
