I am new to the Volvo family, and just purchased a 2004 S60 R turbo. Is it common in turbos for the steering to be so noisy? It's constantly humming, especially when turning.

The dealer said I probably needed power steering fluid, but I wanted to be sure that that's not all it was.

Do turbos usually make that humming sound????

 

Yes the fluid for the power steering might be low.

The turbo's are somewhat loud under boost.

 

Check your power steering fluid and the fluids like $20 for a half gallon of fluid
