My wife has an 07 S60. The other day she turned the car off like normal. About an hour later I had to go out to get something and noticed a noise coming from it that sounded like the fan was still on. When I got in the car sure enough the AC fan was blowing just as it was when we parked the car. I spun the fan speed **** around to see if it change the speed but it did not. I had to turn the ignition to position II then back to the off position to get it to stop. Has anyone else seen this before?

 

This is normal. It is called after blow. It runs to dry the compressor. If you run the A/C for more than 5 min, once car is off for 1hr, It will run about 10 min. It is in the owners manual.

 

It also helps to keep the car cool in hot climates. it will blow air into the car so that the tempature does not increase.
