Default Alarm not working

Hi to all,

I recently bought S60, D2. Car itself is great, so I have few questions about it, and one of it is issue with alarm.
So, when I lock the door, red light start to blink regularly but for example if I leave the window half open, then lock the car and then try to open it with my hand from the inside, nothing happens. The alarm doesn't react. If I press the red button on the key fob, the sound and the lights are activated. So it works.
If I turn on or turn off "reduced guard" everything is same.

So, what to do to see is alarm actually working?

Thank you

What year is your car? What horns make noise when you hold the red panic button down? If it's the normal horns that's not the alarm making noise.

Siren modules go bad in the 01-07 cars. The back up battery leaks onto the circuit board and damages it. Solution is a new siren module or some have replaced the battery, and cleaned up the circuit board after cutting the plastic siren module open with a hack saw - that's the only way to get inside. Many have also done that and not been successful at the repair.

Well - sorry - my info is for an older car, and I don't have any experience with the 07 + siren modules.

My 2006 s60 is showing the same symptoms. I read that pulling the alarm fuse can stop the draining, but it also disables the sunroof!
Fuse #38??
