Bad Wheel Bearing Replacement

Bad Wheel Bearing Replacement
Hi all,
I have a 2004 s60 2.4 w/ about 71k on it. Its still under certified pre owned warranty. Im pretty sure i have a bad wheel bearing, (front left). 1. Is this an item that would be covered under warranty? 2. If not is this an item that is easily replaced by someone with some mechanical ability and experience (i have replaced wheel bearings before, just not on a volvo)? 3. If so would FCP groton be the place to go. 4. As for diagnosis im just using my best judgement as for where the whirring noise is and the turn left, turn right, less noise, more noise method. Are there more reliable ways to do this, so if i do have to have it done either by myself or someone else, i dont order the wrong part? Also, i noticed at the top of this board the post about timing belt preventive maintenance, looks like im at that point. Is this something covered under pre-owned warranty?
Thanks

RE: Bad Wheel Bearing Replacement
i had a noise too on our 2005 with 69k miles, was at the dealer the other day, a technician went out with me on a drive and said that it is the front right wheel bearing. then he took the steering wheel and after a few "slalom tests" said that the left one is not as bad as the right one, but it'll be next.
he said that it would be covered under the CPO warranty, but it would be wise to just do the right one now and the left one some other time, because if they wanted to do both at once a volvo-rep would need to take a look at it and approve it first - and that might take a few days.
so i just had one done and will get the other one done when i am in that area again in a few weeks.

RE: Bad Wheel Bearing Replacement
Hopefully it will be covered under warranty. But if not, it's not too bad to do yourself. Here's how I did mine (just skip the part about changing the axle), I believe your car has the same kind of bearing as mine:
