Default Blow-off Valve

My brother just got a 2005 S60R. We are going to start modding it immediately and I was wondering if anyone has put and aftermarket blow-off valve in a S60R yet?

Usually Blow-off valve is not needed, unless running above factory boost levels and you hear squawk/gobble-like noise from turbo stalling between shifts.

TurboXS Type H is nice, because you can install as bypass-valve (reroute air back into turbo inlet) or install as blow-off (into atmosphere).

you do not want a blow off valve on a volvo car, you will be venting air that has already been computed into the engine management system, and it will make your car run crappy, i had bad experience with that, you will do fine without one, i can hear my car between shifts from an eigth of a mile away

Yes you can run a BOV. I wouldn't suggest a TurboXS of any kind. They are prone to leaking. I do suggest getting an HKS SSQV.

I would also run a blanking plate as well. This replaces the factory CBV and the vaccum line that is running to the CBV is then routed to the BOV. QuickBrickMotorSports sells the blanking plates.

You may run a little rich after the BOV goes off. If your automatic you will only hear the BOV go off when you take your foot off the gas. From what I have heard if you have the Triptronic gearbox and put it into the fake manual setting you will not hear it go off inbetween shifts.
