Default Camshaft and Crankshaft sensors

I'm kinda new to the DIY vehicle repair game, especially with anything European and built in the 21st century. My wife's 2015 S60 T5 threw a code for camshaft sensor the other day, so I've order one from Rockauto hoping that it would be a fairly easy replacement. My question is, should I go ahead and do both Cam and Crank sensors and are they that difficult to DIY? I'm not seeing a whole lot on YouTube about this repair. Thanks in advance for any info y'all can give.

What you should do is diagnose the problem. I can't think of any bad cam sensors I've seen with that engine. Usually if you get a cam sensor code the timing belt is not aligned correctly. When was the timing belt replaced?

(a code does not mean that part is bad, it means a control unit does not like the signal it's getting from it. And there are rational diagnostic processes that can test sensor signals.)

Since we have only owned the car for about a year, I'm going to say it's the original timing belt. How can I check to see if this is the problem? I'm trying to avoid an overly exorbitant mechanics bill. What do you consider a rational diagnostic process?

The cam belt is scheduled to be changed every 10 years, so you should make sure it has been changed. A compatible scan tool would be helpful in finding the cause of your codes.
