Guys, I need help.
Volvo S60 2.4 (non turbo) 2002 FWD, 99 000 km, Manual
vs.
Volvo S60 T5 2001 FWD, 200 000 km, Manual
They are both silver, both black leather, both the same price.
I haven't checked the cars yet, but I was thinking that the T5 has a lot of km and it might have problems, on the other hand the 2.4 is low millage but might be slow. Does the 2.4 has the same engine as 2.4 T, and can I install turbo on it - cost ?
Any inputs are [sm=smiley20.gif]
Thanks guys.

Honestly? I'd pass on both... I personally would avoid '01s.. many quality 01's, sure, but more failures that year than in subsequent years.
And I'd avoid an N/A because, as you said, it'll be too slow. It is the same engine as the 2.4t, but you'd spend a LOT more adding a turbo than you would just buying a 2.4t.
Which is what I personally did, and what I'd reccommend to you. Wait until you find a 2.4t.
And if your local market is bereft of them, check ebay. Maybe you can find a seller willing to meet you half way or something.

I believe that the 2.4T will be perfect, between both... Is it fast enough though ?
And what the issues with the 2001 ?
Electrical problems ? [&o]
Is the 2.4T available with manual transmission in North American market, because automatic tranny is not considered as an option for me :P

I agree that the 01's have some bugs but to provide some balance, I have an 01 non-T with 168k on it now and have had no major problems thus far. Yes, the ETM seems to be an issue but a free software upgrade seems to take care of it. The tranny is perfect if you change the fluid. Other than that, nothing of major concern. It drives great and yes it lacks the kick of turbo but then it all depends on what you are looking for. Hope this helps.
