I am changing the motor oil for the first time after warranty on my 2012 S60 T5. All 6 quarts of old oil did not drain out. I removed the top oil fill cap and the oil filter is loose. Only about 3 quarts came out. How do I get the remaining oil to drain? Thanks!

 

That's too little oil indeed. My assumption is the engine is burning oil. It's good to keep an eye on it. How many miles on the engine, and what is the oil change interval? For city driving I would keep the oil change at 5000 miles if using synthetic, and for mostly highway driving 10000miles interval.

 

How do you know that only about 3 quarts came out?
