hi new member here i has to change motor for my son,he has a 02 s60 2.4t do i have to pull motor and tranny or can i pull just motor thanks

 

I work at a dealership so I have a lift, so personally dropping the engine and trans together with the subframe is the easiest and only way that I've replaced an engine. I've heard of people just pulling the engine from the top but I don't see or know how there is enough space for that

 

You can pull it from the top but I had to to make a a new lifting eye for the passenger side. The factory eye tries to let the engine roll. It wasn't complicated, just a short piece of 1 x 2 angle iron that bolted to the center of the head. The fit is tight on the way up.
