Default How to check Trans Fluid

After my 37500 maintenance on my 04 S60 my dealer recommended a trans flush & 12 qts of fluid to the tune of $350. They said the fluid is starting to turn dark. I'd like to see that tranny fluid for myself but my manual doesn't show the location of the stick - or if there is one - and I can't seem to find it? Am I blind - brainless? - or is it underneath somewhere?
Just would like to feel a little educated on this before I spend the $$.

Thanks.

It is kind of Hidden you really have to look for it.
It is yellow and located towards the bottom front of the transmission.
It is usually close to the Lower Radiator hose.
