Where is the trans. dip stick?? how do you check the fluid level??

 

Small yellow dipstick below the radiator hose on the drivers side front of the trans housing. Tough to get to and see. Level ground at operating temp with engine running in park.

No, and whatever you do, do not take out the bolt on top of the trans case thinking it is a fill spot! Use a funnel with a flex tube attached. It's a little slow going, but not too bad. IPD has the funnel if you can't find it anywhere else and is a great resource for Volvo owners.
