Default Hydraulic or Mechanical Tensioner

I have a 2001 S60 and want to replace the timing belt. The problem is I called the dealer to see if I need a mechanical or hydraulic tensioner. I gave them the VIN but they couldn't tell. They said most likely it would be a mechanical because they have alot of those in stock for a 2001, and their diagram looks like a mechanical tensioner. He said that there's a number on the engine block that would help but I don't know where. he said it starts with 33 and ends in either an 8 or a 9. He also said the production date of the car would help but I couldn't find it anywhere. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
